David's Aluminum has been serving the Rio Grande Valley since 1994, when founder David Perez started out building aluminum carports and screen rooms. His son Jacob Perez grew up in the business. Jacob began working with the company full time after he graduated high school and has run day-to-day operations full-time since 2019. Today the company is a nine-person team covering installation, sales, marketing, and operations.

The business has since expanded into gutters, which now make up the bulk of its work. The mix isn't an accident: carports, pergolas, and screen rooms see a seasonal bump in the winter, while gutter installs — driven in part by the region's hurricane season — keep the team busy through the summer.

Jobs range from small $700–$800 repairs up to $12,000 full installations, with an average job around $3,000.

The challenge: offering financing was too much of a task

Before Wisetack, David's Aluminum offered financing through Synchrony for about a year. The experience created friction on both sides of the sale. Applications had to be filled out manually and sent to the customer — Jacob describes it plainly: "That alone was a task."

That friction changed how the team sold. Financing wasn't something the crew brought up on every job; it was something customers had to ask for. "We didn't really mention that we were offering financing," Jacob said. "They would have to kind of pull it out of us."

The switch to Wisetack

David's Aluminum has now used Wisetack for two years through Housecall Pro, their CRM. Offering financing through the integration made a world of difference: financing goes out with a single click and is automatically included on every quote — no separate step, no extra system to manage.

For the customer, the process is just as simple. They get a text, click a link, and most of their information is already filled in. "It takes them about five minutes," Jacob said. "They've done it in front of me before, and they don't even have to ask me what to do. It's very self-explanatory."

That ease changed the sales conversation. Financing, including the option to offer 0% interest, is now presented proactively on every job rather than waiting for the customer to bring it up — something Jacob says "instantly wins a lot of people."

The result: higher close rates

David's Aluminum has seen measurable movement in the numbers that matter most to a home services business. Since making the switch to Wisetack, they estimate that:

  • Close rates are up 35%, bringing the team's overall close rate to roughly 45%
  • About 35–50% of closed jobs now go through Wisetack financing
  • $250,000 in jobs have been sold using Wisetack financing to date

"We sold $250,000 worth of jobs using Wisetack, and who knows if we would have been able to do that without it," says Jacob.

Looking ahead

As David's Aluminum continues to grow, Jacob sees Wisetack as part of the business, not just a tool bolted onto it. "We've really taken Wisetack and made it a part of our business — something we're comfortable telling customers about, and something we know is going to take care of them the way we want to take care of them."

Jacob's advice to other contractors

"We go through so many steps to win over a customer and get a job done — adding another one shouldn't be a burden. Wisetack is so simple it doesn't even feel like a step, and it's gained us an additional $250,000 at our bottom line. With it offered on every single job, we've increased our close rate by 35%. That alone is reason enough for anyone to use Wisetack."
